I enjoyed the trout meal. I was hungry & it satisfied my yearning. Thanks to the wait staff in being cheerful & smiling. You are blessed. Happy staff great meals.
What a wonderful place to find. My waitress was so nice . The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. You are stepping back into time. Imagine yourself in the 1950s and the show Happy Days. Highly recommend Hillcrest Restaurant if you find yourself in Las Vegas,New Mexico.
Came here to try the famous Burnt Cheese Tacos and was not disappointed. So tasty. Great waitress made us feel as home.
I thought the food was very flavorful, but was just a wee bit disappointed that my mexican plate wasn't more spicy. The relleno was very good though, and the red sauce was perfect. The steak was perfectly cooked!
We highly recommend this fantastic gem of a restaurant for breakfast. We had the Hillcrest special and the Las Vegas Omelette. Everything was delicious. The green chile served with the omelette is the best we have tasted in years. Friendly service and our coffee cups were never empty. Thanks for making our stop the highlight of our day
Came in with 2 groups ahead of us. The hostess handed me a pen, and I added our names to the list. We waited about 15 minutes. Several people came in behind us. When those people were called to be seated, I went to see why we had not been seated. My name had been crossed off of the list. So we have not tried their food, and it looks like we never will. I'm not going back. We went back. We were seated immediately this time. The food was great, actually it was very, very good, we tore up the salsa and chips appetizer. Service was good... until it got busy. Waitress seem to forget us. But, we understood, she got busy. However, she was as attentive as she could be. I forgot to take a picture, as we just dug in. I will go back. Thank you, Hillcrest. See you soon. High lights; red and green chile was awesome, with a kick. Salsa...Great, somewhat mild.... but with a little kick.
Hearty, down home cooking and great service! Nothing fancy, easy to overlook. Had the Salisbury steak, you should too. I would definitely come back next time I’m in town.
This is an old school restaurant that serves American and Mexican dishes. My husband and I came here for lunch. I ordered the Salisbury steak and my husband ordered enchilada plate. We both enjoyed it. The serving is generous. It is worth the price we paid. It is reasonably priced, thus the five stars. The service is wonderful. Our server was attentive and nice and very friendly . I am also giving the atmosphere of the restaurant five stars. The restaurant has tables for couples, families, friends, and big groups. It is clean and comfortable to dine in. The restroom was also clean when we dined there.
